Appello Urgente

Appello urgente alle autorità dei Paesi Bassi a non espellere l'attivista LGBT ugandese RITAH N.

Ci appelliamo al re Willem-Alexander ,il primo ministro Mark Rutte, i ministri in carica e gli Stati Generali dei Paesi Bassi , all'Alto Commissario delle Nazioni Unite per i rifugiati, l'Alto Commissario delle Nazioni Unite per i diritti umani per impedire un atto di ingiustizia.

Chiediamo alle autorità dei Paesi Bassi e le istituzioni internazionali ad operare con grande umanità nei confronti dei rifugiati gay ugandesi. il Gruppo EveryOne è in contatto con l'attivismo LGBT ugandese e ci rendiamo conto che ogni giorno che l'intolleranza e la violenza omofonica crescono nella nazione. Dopo l'approvazione da parte del Parlamento della legge che punisce l'omosessualità con l'ergastolo, la situazione è fuori controllo.

Purtroppo poche voci ufficiali sono state sollevate fino ad ora,contro l'omofobia istituzionale in Uganda e questa indifferenza rende ancora più difficile il nostro lavoro umanitario e i nostri sforzi per diffondere la cultura della tolleranza. Alcuni stati membri dell'UE hanno talvolta deportato persone LGBT nei paesi intolleranti ed hanno subito così gravi persecuzioni o addirittura sono scomparsi dopo la deportazione.

Il centro Voice St.Pauls (SPAVOC) ed il Gruppo EveryONe (l'Organizzazione Internazionale per i Diritti Umani) e la società civile ugandese stanno iniziando un appello urgente alle autorità dei Paesi Bassi chiedendo di non espellere RITAH N, lei è una donna lesbica attivista LGBT fuggita dal suo paese perché era perseguitata. La Convenzione di Ginevra è stata creata per proteggere le persone perseguitate ed è un errore cercare di raggirarla per le proprie esigenze, essa è stata scritta per salvare vite e prevenire la crudeltà,la tortura , la prigionia o la morte di persone innocenti. Questo è il motivo per cui St.Paul Centre Voice ed il Gruppo EveryOne e la società ugandese si chiedono istruzioni alle istituzioni olandesi per dare rifugio a RITAH al fine di garantirle la protezione internazionale e di concederle asilo .Il nostro appello viene anche inviato all'Alto Commissario delle Nazioni Unite per i rifugiati,l'Alto Commissario per i diritti umani,il Parlamento Europeo,il Commissario per i diritti umani.

Urgent appeal to the authorities of the Netherlands not to deport the Ugandan LGBT activist Ritah N. Kampala/Milan, July 24, 2014 We are appealing to King Willem-Alexander, the Prime Minister Mark Rutte, the ministers in charge and the States-General of the Netherlands, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the European Parliament, the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights to prevent an act of injustice. We ask the authorities of the Netherlands and the international institutions to operate with great humanity towards gay refugees from Uganda. EveryOne Group is in contact with the Ugandan LGBT activism and we realize every day how intolerance and homophobic violence grow in that nation. After the approval by Parliament of the law that punishes homosexuality with life imprisonment, the situation is out of control. Unfortunately, few official voices have been raised against institutional homophobia in Uganda and this indifference makes even more difficult our humanitarian work and our efforts to disseminate the culture of tolerance. Unfortunately some EU member states have sometimes deported LGBT people to intolerant countries, who have suffered severe persecution or even disappeared after deportation. EveryOne Group (the International Organization for Human Rights), the St. Pauls Voice Centre (SPAVOC) and the Ugandan Civil Society are sending an urgent appeal to the authorities of the Netherlands not to deport Ritah N. Ritah is a gay woman and LGBT activist who fled his country because she was being persecuted. The Geneva Convention was created to protect the persecuted people and it is a mistake to try to circumvent its requirements, which were written to save lives and prevent cruelty, torture, imprisonment or death of innocent people. This is why EveryOne Group, St. Pauls Voice Centre and the Ugandan Civil Society are asking the Dutch institutions to give shelter to Ritah, to ensure her international protection, and to grant her asylum. 

Our appeal is also being sent to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the European Parliament, the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights.
